Feel the Love: Meet Peg, a loyal customer and 2x cancer survivor

Jenny Loves You!

It’s February and love is in the air. Can you feel it?

Over the years, customers have shared their profound stories with me. It’s remarkable how many people use CBD to enhance their lives.

In appreciation of you… I’ve launched the Jenny Loves Me campaign. Over the next several weeks, I’ll share stories from customers, just like you! You’ll hear about their wellness journey– overcoming obstacles, facing fear head-on, and walking the path of healing.

First, up…meet Peg!
Peg grew up in Nutley, New Jersey. Her family has been there for generations. In fact, she lives in the house she grew up in– it’s been in the family for four generations.

Peg is an artist (it runs in the family). She loves to cook but is known for her baking. She makes upwards of 15 types of cookies during the holiday season (hence her nickname, “The Cookie Lady”!).

Getting Sick
In August 2019, Peg had a colon resection due to a cancer diagnosis. This, however, wasn’t Peg’s first battle with cancer. In 2017, she battled bilateral breast cancer.

As you can imagine, after discovering you have a serious medical condition, you slide into a state of uncertainty, fear, grief, anger, and worry. All of that paired with physical pain, generalized malaise, and side effects from treatment and medication.

Peg says she suffered from a diminished quality of life– pain, sleeplessness, stress, and anxiety. She continued having abdominal pain weeks after her surgery. When she asked her doctor about it, he didn’t offer her any solutions or explanations.

Unbearable pain was affecting her sleep, daily function, anxiety, and quality of life. She had to reduce the pain in order to regain some semblance of her old life.

Peg tells me, “I had used the drugs recommended by my physicians, with great reluctance, since pain pills carry their own set of problems. [I] didn’t want to rely on narcotics for obvious reasons.”

Road to Recovery
Peg tells me she uses full-spectrum CBD ginger tincture and CBD brownies before bedtime. She states her pain, anxiety, and sleeplessness has improved.

“I tried a dose of the CBD at bedtime and literally had no further discomfort,” Peg says.

“The relief from pain was the most important thing for me….that impacted all the other areas of my life and allowed me to get back to being myself more quickly.”

Illness can’t hold Peg down.

She tries to keep active physically, socially, and cognitively. Her daily practices include t’ ai chi and qigong, reading, and enjoying taking educational classes. Peg also frequents the entertainment scene á la movies and plays. Norton, her Irish Jack Russell, keeps her on her nimble toes.

She has a giant green thumb and loves gardening.

“Guess I love tulips…they are among the first to break the bleakness of winter and are sooooo beautiful,” says Peg.

Thank you, Peg, for sharing your story with the Jenny Loves Me community.
