When you wake up each morning, what do you look forward to? Let’s say it is a Saturday morning. You wake up and open your eyes. What’s the one thing that puts a smile on your face? Is it coffee, your spouse, your child, …or imagining yourself soaking up the morning sun with a book?

We go through each day, typically with some routine. Pick up your morning cappuccino at the coffee shop on the corner. Head over to the yoga studio for a great therapeutic sweat. Then, grab your favorite sandwich at the bodega up the street. Maybe you’re the “snap-a-selfie and post to social media” type. You go back home, watch Netflix, and cuddle with your fluffy fur-babies.

You get the idea.

We expect the routine. We rely on it. It gives our life rhythm of joy, familiarity, and expectation. Our daily rhythm is well-versed, it is tried-and-true. It brings us comfort.

I had the pleasure of meeting Diane S, a New York native, and a loyal Jenny’s customer.

Diane is Bronx born, Long Island raised, and Brooklyn made. In fact, she’s been calling Brooklyn ‘home’ for 35 years.

She is like you and me– going about our daily lives with a sense of expectation and rhythm.

Always drawn to the outdoors with an athletic inclination, she enjoys boating, lounging on the beach, swimming, and bicycling. Diane found herself bicycling with the friendliest bike club in New York, the Five Borough Club.

“I grew up boating and spent a lot of time on the beach, which remains one of my happy places.”

Shortly after moving to Brooklyn, she gave birth to her daughter, now 34 years old. Then, Diane began having some chronic health issues. This prompted her to study holistic, natural medicine. She went on to have a successful practice as an acupuncturist.

One day in December 2018, her rhythm for the outdoors stopped.

She was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. “In January of 2019, I began weekly insulin-potentiated chemotherapy, ” says Diane.

Her days of outdoor adventure were replaced with cancer treatments, doctor appointments, and painful side effects.

As a practitioner of natural medicine, Diane made the decision to incorporate sustainable, natural medicine into her treatment. She believes using CBD for cancer recovery is the best method. The chemotherapy side effects give Diane pain, joint inflammation, muscle tension, and loss of appetite.

Determined to incorporate natural alternatives into her routine, she began using Jenny’s CBD coconut oil, ginger tincture, and CBD pain cream.

“Generally, I use coconut oil in my tea in the evening, but I have also used it in my shake in the morning.”

– Diane S.

Diane tells me she no longer has pain. Additionally, she reports the CBD products are increasing her appetite substantially– helping her gain back 10 of the 25 pounds she lost during chemotherapy.

She’s on the road to building back her stamina and looks forward to returning to her old rhythm of outdoor adventures.
